Step back in time to the Wild West without leaving Colorado Springs!

Consider a situation where you find yourself in the forgotten area of the Old West right at city center? What would you have done? Well, that is what makes the Ghost Town Museum so enchanting! A kind of time machine transporting you to saloons’ world or blacksmith stores or even a chance for becoming rich overnight.

But this is not just any museum; it connects with Colorado’s history quite deeply. Actual structures from ghost towns scattered across Pikes Peak region were painstakingly reconstructed as original pioneer ambiance experience. Walking on dusty streets, observing general stores filled with products from bygone eras or even trying your hand on panning gold are some of the activities here.

Not just that, you are welcome to buy various kinds of souvenirs from their gift shop for your friends and family back home. Just a little heads-up; the souvenir options are aplenty; you might end up scratching your head to choose ‘the right one’. So much fun, nevertheless!

The Ghost Town Museum Colorado Springs isn’t just about the past, though. The museum is a place where history comes to life. Where kids can literally churn butter, play vintage arcade games, and even test their aim at a shooting gallery.

Back in 1858, folks were rushing to Colorado hoping to strike it rich in gold. As more and more people arrived, towns popped up everywhere. But when the gold ran out, many of these towns were left empty, hence the “ghost towns”.

In order to preserve a part of Colorado’s Wild West Heritage, the Ghost Town Museum first opened its doors in 1954. The genuine feels that you will get to experience out of being here is literally stepping into history in the modern world!

Real buildings from old Colorado towns were brought together to make this special place. You can walk down a street just like folks did a hundred years ago.
